Playing the piano and singing songs from my back catalogue of fabulous original numbers from the early sixt- I mean seventies - allow me, one time star of the Las Vegas nightclub scene, comedy cabaret chanteuse Miss Hope Springs, to indulge you with my 'smash hit laugh-out-loud-move-you-to-tears one-woman show’ Broadway World.
I may still be wearing the sequins and feathers I left the Pink Pelican Casino with in 1972, but I'm sure to leave you spellbound with scandalous showbiz tales from my ‘Ritz to the pits’ life. You’ll hear my unique blend of finger snapping pop, romantic rhumbas and sassy Bossa Novas as I take you on a rollercoaster ride, spilling the beans on my unusual love life, (Liberace and Barry Manilow were just two of the men who got away), my interesting career choices (I turned down the role of Samantha in Bewitched for a winter cruise around Siberia), and now I live in a camper van in Dungeness with my husband Irving and his close hairdresser pal Carlos.
I’ll tinkle the ivories and render you speechless with songs from my multiple (mostly unreleased) LPs including Je m'appelle Hope, Miss Hope Springs Swings with Strings, Das Ist Miss Hope Springs and my 1972 Memphis Album (which I was lucky enough to record in High Wycombe).
Join me as I pack my suitcase of dreams and take you on a trip down Memory Lane… watch out for the potholes!
